OUR EFFORTS TO SAVE THIS PRICELESS HERITAGE
1. RAISING AWARENESS THROUGH CONVERSATIONS AND INTERACTIONS :
During our first visit, we found many inestimable Havelies in dilapidated condition which was very painful to our team members and the other visitors but the beauty of the construction and art work thrilled all of us and sent us to ecstasy. We all firmly decided to do something to generate awareness for the preservation of our ancestral essence of knack and edifice. We talked to the people of those particular places and guided them not to fill the ancient Havelies with heap of garbage and filth.
Some of the owners hired caretakers to look after the Havelies in their absence but they were not paying much attention towards preservation of priceless art work. We convinced them to be attentive and provide their contribution for the preservation of our ancestral property. Some of the caretakers were in favour of preservation of Frescos & Havelies and were trying their level best to catch the attention of visitors.
To generate the awareness amongst the people
, our team started a campaign
which was in the form of rallies, conversations
and other interesting ways.
2. RAISING AWARENESS THROUGH RALLIES :
, our team members marched forward holding the banners and posters in their hands and loudly chanting the slogans. All of us were warmly welcomed by the local people of those particular areas and they motivated us by appreciating our task (generating awareness, preserving our ancient culture and tradition.)
Some owners, we met, jeered on unavailability of material and colours for Fresco but our team guided them to have a contact with the owners who have already started the restoration work. We gave them an example of Mrs. Shruti Poddar of Shruti Foundation who has keen interest for the restoration work and she has renovated her own Haveli.
In the month of December 2016
, under the guidance and supervision of Mrs. Shruti Poddar, Chairperson of SHRUTI FOUNDATION, organized a program “VEDAARANYA HERITAGE ARTS & HEALING FESTIVAL (VHAH FEST) from 6 December 2016 to 9 December 2016 in Ramgarh for the preservation of our age long cultural heritage
. Many eminent personalities like Dr. SONAL MANSINGH (Padam Vibhusan Awardee), Dr. SHUBHA MUDGAL (Padam Shree Awardee) etc
were called to inspire the people.
Our team cyber fair attended the programme
and tried to motivate the people from the stage to acknowledge our ancient culture and tradition. We had a long discussion with Mrs. Shruti Poddar about the Frescos and Havelies as she is the owner of a very huge Haveli. She made us visit her own Haveli and we were very happy to see the restoration work going on in the Haveli.
